Project | 01 Connections Program

 

Leadership involves motivation, empowerment, perseverance, and commitment into making a positive difference. I possess these qualities and have mentored classmates to make a positive difference in our school. A description of this would be my active role in the Connections Program. This program helped me to develop and challenge my skills as a leader. To explain, the Connections program supported my awareness and understanding of issues relating to discrimination and stereotyping and the environment. This program empowered me to utilize my knowledge to influence positive change within my school and community environment. I have demonstrated this through the organizing and directing of an Anti-Bullying Campaign for the Connections Program within the school. As being considered the “spokesperson” within the group, I administered and hosted school presentations as well as guest speakers. Additionally, I also designed Campaign posters leading up to the Anti-Bullying presentations, using Adobe Photoshop, within the school.  By the end of the Campaign, I have successfully addressed the issues of bullying and by doing so, became a reputable school ambassador and leader.
